Vienna’s sci-fi rave reimaginator Stefan Kushima has evolved from laser drone and tape hiss to his current mode of strobe-lit hijacked trance. His previous release, Up To Us, flirted with higher BPMs but Orbital Express is a more representative expression of Cruise Family’s uniquely fried hyperspace.

The A Side shimmers in a pool of crystal synth drip before pumping a damaged beat through arpeggiating squiggle and LED wash. The B piece is split in two, one half bouncy and junked, the other darker and drumless, a swarming alien throb looming until the power goes dead.
